Counter and Table Tops

When it comes to kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities, beautiful stone options are the ultimate design statement. But how do you choose? At the end of the day, pricing and personal preference will dictate your final choice, but there are some principles to guide your decision making.

Marble is a beautiful natural stone and is often the classic choice when it comes to vanities and countertops. It is a porous stone, so needs to be sealed and is probably better suited for bathroom vanities rather than kitchen counters as it can stain easily.

Quartz, as engineered stone, is a newer player to the vanity and countertop scene. Its versatility in colours and textures make it very popular. It is also incredibly tough and hard wearing, needs very little maintenance and will add timeless style to your kitchen or bathroom. As it is non-porous, it is basically stain proof.

Granite is extensively used as countertops and vanities as it is one of the strongest and most durable natural stone surfaces. Also available in a vast array of colours, you are spoilt for choice. Each slab is completely unique with regard to colour tones and patterning. Granite is easy to maintain and extremely heat resistant. Slightly porous, it does need to be sealed.

See below for the stone types that are best suited for your counter and vanity options.
