Quartz is an engineered stone that comprises 90% quartz (aka silicon dioxide) mixed with resin and colour pigments. It is fashioned to look like natural stone, resembling marble, and is incredibly strong and durable. It is basically indestructible. Used mainly for countertops and vanities, its non-porous qualities add a hygienic element, keeping the surface bacteria free.
Quartz is extremely resistant to scratching, chipping and staining. It can, however, be damaged by excessive heat.
Traditionally in classic white, Quartz has taken the market by storm with the addition of several patterns and colours with sparkly flecks for extra glamour.
